In a visionary step to strengthen technical education in renewable energy in the state of Florida, Conexsol and Miami Dade College (MDC) are working jointly on the development of the first Integrated Solar Energy Technical Program, projected for implementation in 2026.
This initiative, currently in the planning and design phase, represents a joint institutional effort between Conexsol and Miami Dade College to build a unique academic–industry model in the region. Within this collaboration, Pedro Santos, representing the College’s engineering area, contributes technical expertise, while Germán Antonio López Sosa, CEO of Conexsol USA LLC, leads the program’s vision from the solar industry perspective.
🔧 An Educational Project That Will Transform Technical Training in Florida
The program includes the creation of the SolarEdge–Conexsol Lab, a training laboratory designed to provide real-world field experience within an academic environment.
Scheduled for 2026, this space will integrate:
- A real electrical room equipped with advanced SolarEdge technology
- Professional mounting stations featuring Unirac systems
- Diagnostic, optimization, and fault-simulation areas
- Tools and workstations that replicate real installation and O&M conditions
The goal is to position this laboratory as a benchmark for technical solar training in the state of Florida.
🎓 An Academic Program Bridging Academia and Industry
Currently under development, the program plan includes:
✔️ Institutional Academic Training
Led by Miami Dade College, ensuring formal technical education standards.
✔️ Official Training by SolarEdge and Unirac
As part of the program hours, participation is being planned from:
- SolarEdge engineers
- Unirac specialists
These sessions aim to significantly elevate the technical level of future participants.
✔️ Hands-On Experience with Conexsol
As part of the program design, Conexsol will provide access to real commercial and industrial projects for supervised hands-on training.
🚀 Expected Impact by 2026
The initiative is projected to:
- Train 10 technicians per quarter once the program launches
- Graduate 40 certified professionals per year
- Raise the overall technical quality of solar installations across Florida
- Create a new educational and professional pathway for young professionals and transitioning technicians
